September Spring Dallas User Group Meeting - Spring or J2EE/JEE?
Spring Dallas User Group Wednesday, September 19th, 2012
TOPIC: Spring or J2EE/JEE?
6:30 to 7:00 Pizza
7:00 Main Meeting
Abstract: Spring or J2EE/JEE? Since the evolution of Spring, there have been 2 separate schools of thought on which framework is best for developing Enterprise Java. This session will offer an alternative – why not both? Join in on the discussion of pros and cons of both frameworks, how they can integrate together, and how the market-leading application server supports Spring with things like console support for Spring components, simplified configuration of Spring beans, and improved administration of Spring apps. We will also look at new JEE 6 features that help modernize Spring environments, Maven for Spring developers and tooling support for Spring via Eclipse plugins.
Biography: Shari White is a Senior Solution Consultant with 6 years at Oracle specializing in WebLogic Server and SOA technologies. Prior to joining Oracle, Shari was with BEA Systems where she originally began working with Spring-Weblogic integration. While 10 years removed from full-time software development, she still enjoys keeping up with the latest Java technologies and trends, and speaks regularly at Oracle middleware technology events. Shari is a single mom of a 1st grade boy, and very glad school has finally started up again. She has no spare time, but if she did, she would enjoy running, cooking and drinking wine.
